I stumbled across Neets AI through an X (formerly Twitter) post and decided to test it. As I mentioned in another post about Eleven Labs, another text-to-speech and voice cloning tool (currently the single best tool of its kind), AI text-to-speech technology is rather infant compared to other AI fields, such as text, image, and video generation. There aren’t many choices when it comes to AI TTS.
Neets AI claims it’s 97% cheaper and 3-6 times faster than Eleven Labs. So why not test it to verify or negate its claims?

What can it do?
This is what their homepage looks like. You can sign in via Google or try it even without signing in. You’re greeted by famous people’s faces from across the globe. You can click different icons to select from musicians and actors to even executives and government officials.
The interesting thing is when you select a figure, you have two options:
- Chat with that personality
- TTS (text-to-speech)
I chose Alex Jones to spark a little controversy. Let’s chat with him. (It’s pertinent to mention that Neets AI uses Mixtral, currently the best open-source large language model.)

Neets AI also offers an API, which they claim is way faster than Eleven Labs’. I’ve used both and can confirm that they’re telling the truth. There’s negligible latency – it almost feels like in real-time.
The best part is that, if you’re not a developer or tech-savvy enough to use their API, there’s a nice little box that lets you generate speech from text, and there are plenty of both male and female voices to choose from.

Neets AI has two subscription options, which are as follows:
Eleven Labs’ pricing is insane, to say the least. So Neets AI is being truthful when it says it’s x times cheaper than Eleven Labs.
Verdict
Neets AI has impressive capabilities in terms of impersonation and voice cloning. Its impersonation capabilities include both text and voice. And, currently, there’s no better tool than that for that purpose.
