Eleven Labs, the best AI speech synthesis tool currently on the market, and Perplexity AI, a large-language-model-based conversational search engine marketed as an “answer engine,” have entered a partnership to bring the best of the latter’s Discover Daily feed to life with the former’s AI voices.
Both companies took to Twitter to announce a partnership that could be a game changer.
I have already reviewed Eleven Labs, where I explained why it’s the number one AI speech synthesis tool out there. There’s no need to redo it here, so let’s cut straight to Perplexity, its Discover feed, and the recently announced Discover Daily Podcast.
Perplexity uses OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 (GPT-4 and Claude 2.1 in the paid plan) and a Bing-based retrieval system to generate answers. In this regard, it is similar to the Bing/ChatGPT integration. However, what’s unique about Perplexity is its focus on accuracy and conciseness.
Although an overstatement, people are already talking (fantasizing) about Perplexity beating Google in the future. Perplexity is the talk of the town.
Perplexity’s Discover is a curated collection of stories from various sources that cover topics such as technology, science, and culture. Man, it’s addictive… to say the least. No large language model BS… just interesting facts, stories, and food for thought.
